A note from the designer
I have loved making jewelry my whole life. Growing up, I’d spend entire weekends in bead stores, just staring, turning stones over, imagining what they could become. I once wrote to a designer I admired and all but begged for an internship. It didn’t happen.
Someone once told me that when you ask the universe for something, the answer is always one of three: yes, not yet, or I have something better planned for you. What followed was more than twenty years in a career I never would have known to dream of, and I’m grateful for every part of it. Looking back, this line has been all three answers at once: the not yet, the something better, and now, at last, the yes.
Starting it has had its nervous moments. Every time the fear creeps in, I remind myself that you can come from fear or you can come from love, and whatever you choose is what comes back to you. Every single time I have chosen love, it has returned: as support from family and friends, as a note from a customer, as the next idea arriving right when I needed it.
So that is what gets strung into these pieces, one bead at a time. My hope is that you feel it when you put one on, and that you carry it into whatever you’re building.
